O.D.I.N. for Foundry VTT: a German system with a full English translation

O.D.I.N. is a tabletop roleplaying game from Germany, and it runs fully in Foundry VTT. The system comes with personnel files, the two-colour dice pool, every class tree, 347 adversaries and each adventure as a pack. It speaks English and German, following Foundry's language setting, and it is free, just like the books.

  2. Create a new world with the system “O.D.I.N.”.
  3. Open a pack in the one-click adventure compendium, for example the Quickstart with “The House by the Reservoir”. The import creates journals, adversaries, scenes and tables in your world.
  4. Agents from the character generator come in as a file: use “Export as file” in the generator, then click “Generator” on the sheet.

O.D.I.N. in Foundry VTT: a skill check, combat and a psi power (about three minutes)

What the system does

Personnel file
Three sheets laid out like the class sheet from the generator: attributes, values, skills, your dice, subclass abilities, weapons, signature and career.
Dice
White succeeds on 5+, coloured on 4+. A dialog for difficulty, bonus and penalty dice; the chat card shows successes, excess, fumbles and critical successes.
Combat and horror
Attacks on the targeted token with damage and armour, horror checks with strain and trauma, powers and spells with costs and feedback.
Class trees
Every node from the six class books, one click each. The sheet checks rank, prerequisites and XP and works out the price of the class.
Adversaries
347 adversaries with round tokens from the Threat Atlas, The Registry and the adventures. Their file shows stats and attacks; the knowledge test reveals only as much as the roll earns.
Compendiums
Ten ready agents plus the six Nordlicht 1977 agents in their 1947 and 1977 versions, all with portraits, plus weapons, armour, gear, artefacts, psi powers and spells.
Adventures with one click
Quickstart, Grey Files, The Door, The Other Services, Holds of the World, Random Files and Nordlicht 1977. One import sets everything up with every link intact.
Scenes with notes
53 ready-to-play scenes. Every numbered location carries a note that opens the matching journal page, and the adversaries of the Grey Files wait as hidden tokens.
Rules and tables
The core rules as a compendium of eleven journals, 281 roll tables from all books and macros for checks, horror, attacks and a whole random case file.

The Map Room as a module

The 146 maps from Volume 23 “The Map Room” come as a module of their own, in English and German. Every map is a scene with a matching grid. Players see the version without numbers and secret rooms; the game master version lies on top as a hidden tile. Install it under Add-on Modules → Install Module:

Questions

Is it really in English?

Yes. Sheets, compendiums, class trees and adventures exist in English and German. Foundry shows the language chosen in its settings.

Do I need the books?

The system is enough to play; the rules are inside as a compendium. All books are still free as PDFs under Books.

What does it cost?

Nothing. The system, the Map Room module, the books and the generator are free.

And without Foundry?

There is an extension for Owlbear Rodeo, a system for Let's Role, and our own virtual table runs in the browser with no account. Everything is on Virtual tabletops.
